HBCF held its inaugural People with Purpose Awards Luncheon at the W Hotel in Newark on April 8, honoring four people from the breast cancer arena for their efforts and contributions to the organization.
A huge heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who attended. The funds raised will go toward our programs, including We Support…YOU Survive, which serves low income women.
It was an inspiring, touching and rewarding day. We honored four special community members who have given so much of themselves in support of breast cancer patients, their families and resources provided to them.
- Hope Award – William E. Dugoni, Jr., M.D., Director, Washington Hospital Healthcare System Women’s Center
- Empowerment Award – Bernie Dutra, Founder and President, OneChild Foundation
- Renewal Award – Harriet Despeaux, Community Volunteer Activist
- Support Award – Hattie Hyman Hughes, President, Fremont Bank Foundation
