LOS ANGELES (August 2010) – Mothers, daughters, sisters, wife, friends, grandmothers. We love and honor the women in our lives, and during October – Breast Cancer Awareness Month – it’s time to bring the power of that love to a cause that protects women.  Brighton – the accessories manufacturer that has donated over $3 million to breast cancer charities since 2003 – has created a new breast cancer awareness bracelet for 2010. The design reminds those who see it of the healing power of love with a powerful message, “All you need is love.”

The modern I.D. style bracelet features a contemporary plaque inscribed with the word “Love.” Crystals gleam inside the letters. With words added on the top and bottom, the message reads, “All you need is love, love is all you need.”  It’s the perfect symbol for a renewed commitment to make a difference in the lives of women and their families who have been challenged by this disease.

The bracelet, which retails for $50, will be available from October 1st to October 31st at Brighton Collectibles stores and other participating retailers across the nation. For each bracelet sold at the company’s 147 Brighton Collectibles stores, Brighton will donate $10 to breast cancer awareness organizations.

To Brighton, the Power of Pink represents the power that each one of us has to make a difference in the lives of the women who mean so much to us. Anyone can be diagnosed with this disease – not just the elderly and middle-aged, but thousands in their 20s and 30s. In the U.S. alone, an estimated 240,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed this year; 11,100 under age 40. Each year, 40,000 women die of breast cancer – 1,100 are under age 40.

Brighton’s involvement in this cause speaks to the core values of the company since its inception. Brighton’s owners Jerry and Terri Kohl started their business over 30 years ago, and they resolved to have a different kind of company that would be run from the heart, by caring about and personally servicing the specialty stores that sold their products and the consumers who purchased them. So it was only natural that, when they heard the stories of families struggling with the challenges of breast cancer, they wanted to help. As manufacturers, they decided it made sense to create jewelry that would raise money for breast cancer organizations.

Believing that “the more we all give, the sooner we’ll reach a cure,” Brighton’s intention is to set off a chain reaction of donations to breast cancer organizations – which doesn’t stop with the retailers and events, but continues to spread awareness that results in many individuals giving additional donations to organizations working toward this goal.

Known for excellent quality and a broad-ranging assortment of finely crafted accessories, Brighton also produces handbags, belts, footwear, small leather essentials, eyewear, luggage, fragrances and gifts. To see the entire line, visit www.brighton.com.
